Tomiyasu's previous deal ran until 2025, but Arsenal decided to reward the 25-year-old after making 20 appearances for the club this season in all competitions.
“I want to achieve something,” Tomiyasu said. “I want to win something with my teammates, with the fans.
“I'm very happy to extend my contract because Arsenal is one of the best clubs in the world. And it's a dream to play for this club, so I'm happy.”
Tomiyasu joined Arsenal from Bologna in August 2021 for £19.8 million ($25.1 million) and has been capped 41 times by Japan.
He is sidelined with a calf problem, but his versatility has been a useful asset for Arsenal, playing at both full-back and centre-back as he fights to become a first choice defender.
“We have so many great players,” Tomiyasu continued. “I play as a full-back at Arsenal, but when I play with the national team, I play in the center. So I learn from the other defenders. They are so good. There is a lot of competition between the players, but it's is a good environment to become a better player.
Gunners boss Mikel Arteta said: “We are very pleased that Tomi is committing his future to us. With his natural ability and strength, Tomi's attitude, mentality and values are first class.
“Tomi is loved by everyone and has been an integral part of the team since he joined us. The way he trains, with his desire and determination to be the best version of himself every day, is admirable. We look forward to continuing to work with Tomi in the years to come.”
Tomiyasu is the latest Arsenal player to commit to his future with the club, with Ben White extending to 2028 last week and Bukayo Saka and Martin Ødegaard also signing new long-term contracts in the last 18 month.
