Samsung’s grand Galaxy S25 redesign plans may include iPhone 16 Pro-inspired screen for base model،
The dust has barely settled on the Galaxy S24 and Samsung is reveling in the success of the series, but rumors about the Galaxy S25 have already started to surface. Samsung's S series phones have maintained the same look since 2021's Galaxy S21, with minor changes here and there, and the design is admittedly long in the tooth. Samsung wants to change that with next year's phones, according to a new rumor.
Popular South Korean tipster eyes1122 reportedly learned from company sources that the Galaxy S25 range would be very different from the Galaxy S24. They also write that significant changes will be made to the “Galaxy S25 series concept”, and we assume they are referring to the phone's hardware.
The leaker claims that the size of the base model will increase from 6.2 inches to 6.36 inches. This is the only specific information revealed by the leaker.
Samsung's decision may have been inspired by the rumor that the iPhone 16 Pro would move from a 6.1-inch display to a 6.3-inch display. This move might be unpopular among those who prefer compact phones, as there aren't many flagships that don't come with giant screens.
We already expected Samsung to overhaul the design of the Galaxy S25 family, since a late 2023 report claimed that Samsung had tasked its design team leader, who was formerly a designer at Mercedes-Benz, with refreshing the look from the Serie.
Some rumors say that the Galaxy S25 and S25 Plus will remove the current GN3 sensor made by Samsung and adopt a Sony sensor instead. The move could understandably hurt Samsung's unit that makes smartphone cameras, but the company is apparently prepared for the setback. This suggests that the South Korean giant is ready to pull out all the stops to make the Galaxy S25 the best phone.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, which will likely power the Galaxy S25 Ultra and some base and Plus models, could be faster than the A18 chip that will power the iPhone16.
