Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset is all about AI،
As expected, American chipmaker Qualcomm introduced its latest product designed to power high-end smartphones, the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor. Like every other big company these days, Qualcomm is all about AI.
The recently announced Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset was specifically created to leverage high-level capabilities in on-device generative AI features, photography, and gaming experiences.
Key features of Qualcomm's chipset include an always-sensing ISP, incredibly realistic mobile gaming, revolutionary connectivity, lossless high-definition audio, as well as support for powerful on-device generative AI features.
Also, Qualcomm confirmed that the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset supports multiple AI models such as Baichuan-7B, Llama 2, Gemini Nano, and Zhipu ChatGLM.
The Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset is manufactured using 4nm technology and features a Cortex-X4 main core clocked at 3 GHz, four performance cores (up to 2.8 GHz), and three efficiency cores ( up to 2 GHz).
It is important to add that the chip comes with a Qualcomm Spectra ISP (Image Signal Processor), as well as support for triple video capture from HDR image sensors: up to 36 MP triple camera at 30 fps, up to 64+36 MP dual camera at 30 fps, single camera up to 108 MP at 30 fps and photo capture up to 200 MP.
As for memory, the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 supports LP-DDR5x memory (up to 4,200 MHz) and up to 24 GB of RAM.
According to Qualcomm, several smartphone manufacturers have already confirmed that their products will be equipped with the new Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor, including Honor, iQOO, realme, Redmi and Xiaomi. The first phones equipped with the new chipset will be announced in the coming months.
