Ten Hag has a veto over United’s signing of new players, but the Dutchman said he had not yet been informed of changes to the club’s structure.

“I am not involved in this,” Ten Hag said at a news conference Friday.

“Other members of the club are facing this, I focus on my team, on the current block and the most important priority is the next game, everything depends on that.”

United will resume after the international break with a trip to bottom Premier League team Sheffield United on Saturday.

Casemiro will be out with an ankle problem but Sergio Reguilón and Raphaël Varane are expected to return.

Ten Hag also confirmed that Victor Lindelöf was available after the defender was involved in the incident which forced Sweden to abandon the Euro 2024 qualifier against Belgium. The match was called off at half-time after two Swedish fans were fatally shot in Brussels before kick-off.

“This is a terrible and sad situation for the victims and the victims’ relatives, families and friends there in Brussels,” Ten Hag added.

“It’s a crazy world. Of course Victor had a problem, it’s a bad experience, as the Swedish national team he was the captain, he had to stay in front and make statements but he sorted it out the problem. He’s exhausted after that. He I didn’t sleep all night.

“He came back and yesterday [Thursday] he was back in training. He handled the situation. Our thoughts are with Victor, the victims’ loved ones and the victims. Victor has energy and is ready to play this match.”
