Expectations from Google I/O 2024
Focus on AI
This year's I/O is expected to focus heavily on artificial intelligence. Google recently announced its flagship AI Model Gemini as well as its compact counterpart, Gemma. Although the launch of the AI model did not go smoothly, the launch of Gemini's image generator caused controversy, so much so that Sundar Pichai had to accept that the unintended consequences were unacceptable. Google launched Bard in 2023, which also received mixed reactions. At this point, Google has the task of defending its technology against fierce competition from Microsoft, Open AI, Anthropic and many others.
Android 15
Android 15 is also expected to be announced during AI with major updates for services like Gmail, Google Photos, Google Maps, and more.

Reports claim that Pixel 8a will have a revamped design and will be powered by the Tensor G3 chipset. It is also said to have a bigger battery and faster charging speed. Google Pixel Fold 2
Last year, Google rolled out its first foldable device during I/O. This time around, sources are divided on whether or not the company will reveal the Pixel Fold 2 at I/O 2024. Recent developments claim that the Pixel Fold 2 could be delayed as it needs to feature a new chipset Tensor G4. That would mean a fall launch, but Google could still give a first look at the next foldable at I/O 2024.

Google Pixel 9
Last year, Google did not showcase the upcoming Pixel 8 series device during I/O. So, this time too, the chances of the Pixel 9 being presented are slim, although Google could surprise everyone. THE Pixel 9 And Pixel 9 Pro should have an updated design with flat bezels and significant hardware updates.
