24 hours, 100,000 phones: Nothing Phone (2a) achieves record sales on launch day،
According to the London-based company, on the first day the Phone (2a) hit the market, it managed to sell a whopping 100,000 units. Impressively, 60,000 of them disappeared from the shelves in the first hour.
Carl Pei, CEO and co-founder of Nothing, told Forbes:
Phone (2a) redefines an often overlooked category, bringing Nothing's unique innovations to millions of new users around the world. The sale of a record 100,000 units in just 24 hours is proof of this. A big thank you to our community, our partners and our team for believing in us!
The phone (2a) features Nothing's signature transparent design, paired with a 6.7-inch OLED display and dual 50-megapixel rear cameras. Notably, the Nothing Phone (2a) is the first in its lineup to feature a battery capacity of 5,000 mAh, a step up from its predecessors, which had 4,500 mAh and 4,700 mAh. However, our battery tests show that it will last a long time, but it won't blow you away.
There is no claim that the battery retains at least 90% of its original capacity for a minimum of 1,000 full charge cycles. However, actual testing will be needed to confirm this claim, so stay tuned for updates.
Nothing Phone (2a) is available in the UK, Europe and the US. However, getting it in the US isn't that simple, as it requires signing up for Nothing's Developer Program through the company's official website. Why, you may ask? Well, according to Akis Evangelidis, co-founder of Nothing, it's not the “the right time to go all-in» in the United States for now. Read more on the subject here.
