Spotify to launch new Audiobooks feature in April

After offering music videos to Premium users in some markets, Spotify announced a brand new feature for audiobooks in April: Countdown Pages.

It's the same functionality that made it so successful for music releases. It allows Spotify users to “pre-save” audiobooks before a book's release date, while authors and publishers can promote their new titles before they launch.

Once an audiobook is pre-recorded, a countdown will be visible above it until it starts. When the book is actually published, Spotify will notify users so they know they can start listening to it.

With countdown pages, Spotify users can search for songs on the streaming service as soon as they are announced.
