iPad Pro (2024) battery and charging: Here’s what we know،
In addition to the two new iPad Air models in 2024, Apple will also launch two new iPad Pro models. Of course, we are talking about a new generation for both the 11-inch iPad Pro and the 12.9-inch iPad Pro.
Among the improvements we expect to see with the 2024 iPad Pro models are Apple M3 chips, OLED displays, the selfie camera moving to a landscape orientation, and a new design for the Magic Keyboard. As you may notice, there's no mention of battery or charging upgrades in this list, but, you know, hope dies last.
So, without further ado, that's what we've been hearing about and what we're hoping for with the iPad Pro (2024) battery and charging specs.

Apple doesn't specify the battery capacity and charging speed of its devices, including its iPad tablets, so we won't know for sure until we get our hands on the new 11-inch iPad Pro and 12.9 inches. Our battery and charging tests will give you a good idea of what these two bad boys have and are capable of, so stay tuned for the results.
iPad Pro 11″ (2024)
- Battery size: 7,606 mAh
- Charging speed: 30W
Given the few leaks we've had regarding the shape and size of the 11-inch iPad Pro, we'd be surprised if Apple included a larger battery than its predecessor. The dimensions will likely remain the same with the 2024 model, which is where our assumption comes from. Then again, it's possible that Apple will install a battery with a slightly higher capacity, so that remains to be seen.
In terms of charging, we might see better speeds here. There have been no leaks suggesting such an upgrade, but we say that more as a hope than an expectation. Given the rather slim list of upgrades expected with the 2024 iPad Pro models, a charging slowdown would be a great way to better sell them to potential buyers.
iPadPro 12.9″ (2024)
- Battery size: 10,758 mAh
- Charging speed: greater than 30W
Nothing was different between the larger 12.9″ iPad Pro models and the smaller 11″ models aside from the screen and battery size. This will likely remain true for the 2024 edition for both.
The battery in last year's 12.9-inch iPad Pro has a capacity of 10,758 mAh. Now, Apple could increase this figure to between 11,000 and 12,000 mAh, but it is more likely that this figure will stay the same or turn out to be close to it.
When it comes to charging, we hope to see anything above 30W with this year's biggest iPads, including the 12.9-inch iPad Pro and the rumored iPad Air Plus. Both will have big batteries, so faster charging is almost a necessary upgrade. We'll have to wait and see if Apple thinks so too.
