iPad Air (2024) Battery and Charging Summary

“*” = expected specifications

Apple doesn't specify the battery capacity and charging speed of its devices, including its iPad tablets, so we won't know for sure until we get our hands on the upcoming iPad Air and iPad Air More in 2024. After our testing, we'll know exactly how big the batteries are, as well as how long it takes to charge both 2024 iPad Air models.

iPad Air (2024)

  • Battery size: 7,606 mAh
  • Charging speed: 30W

Given that there will be an iPad Air Plus this year, we don't expect Apple to increase the battery size of the standard model. In other words, the 2024 iPad Air is expected to come with the same 7,606 mAh battery as the 2022 iPad Air.

As for charging, although the iPad Air 2022 was thought to support a maximum charging input of 20W, later testing with a 30W charger revealed that the tablet could be charged much more quickly. The 2024 iPad will likely take the same amount of time it took to fully charge its predecessor, so no changes are expected here either.

iPad Air Plus (2024)

  • Battery size: 10,758 mAh
  • Charging speed: greater than 30W
The new Plus model of the iPad Air coming out in 2024 (at least according to leaks) will most likely be as different as the iPhone 15 Plus is from the iPhone 15. More In terms, the expected upgrades are mainly two: a bigger battery and a bigger screen.

The battery size of the iPad Air Plus is a mystery at the moment, but we suspect it will be close to the battery size of the iPad Air Pro, which has a capacity of 10,758 mAh.

As for charging, we sincerely hope Apple increases the charging speeds at least with the Plus model, as the larger battery will take too long to fill up if the speeds are similar to the regular iPad Air .
