LPDDR6 RAM, expected in 2025, could make a 2024 debut on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4،
LPDDR5 is yesterday's newspapers. The same goes for the upgraded LPDDR5X, as does the turbocharged LPDDR5T which offers read speeds around 12-13% faster than the previous one, the popular LPDDR5X.
Let's talk about LPDDR6. We mentioned it from the very beginning of August 2023, when Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 hadn't even been officially released yet. However, summer 2023 brought some rumors about the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4: it was said that this chipset would consist of two Phoenix L CPU cores and six Phoenix M CPU cores. The new cores would have supported LPDDR6 .
Now there is a report of Ajunews this is quoted by tipster X/Twitter Revegnus which basically claims that LPDDR6 could be integrated into the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4:
According to Ajunews, LPDDR6 is expected to be integrated into hotspots from Apple and Qualcomm for the first time, and is expected to be released in the second half of 2025. However, there is cautious speculation that LPDDR6 could also be incorporated into Qualcomm's next product. …

According to the information available so far, LPDDR6 is expected to be integrated for the first time into APs (application processors) from Apple and Qualcomm in the second half of 2025. However, the AI craze (and (especially the thirst for AI on devices) demands cutting-edge software, and that's why we could see the debut of LPDDR6 as early as 2024, instead of waiting another year or so.
Additionally, Ajunews reported that GDDR7 will likely be present in next-generation GPUs from Nvidia and AMD, such as the “GeForce 5000” series and the “RDNA4” line.
