GEEKOM Mini Air12 PC Review،

With the Mini-Air12, GEEKOM aims to provide users with a low-cost, yet still high-performance system in 2024. As we've seen with previous GEEKOM products, the company is good at cutting costs in the right places to help bring down the overall price, without significantly impacting performance. Was this achieved with the Mini Air12? Here is my opinion.

The sweet spot

First, let's talk about the internals. The GEEKOM Mini Air12 is equipped with the 12th generation Intel Alder Lake N100 chip. Added to this are 16GB of DDR5-4800 RAM – yes, DDR5 – and a 512GB SSD. It's worth noting that the RAM is single-channel, although DDR5 speeds are still impressive and should help overall performance.

Other highlights, especially for the price, include Mini DP 1.4 and USB 3.2 Gen2 Type C ports, as well as support for Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2.

Small but powerful

GEEKOM Mini Air12 review

As with all GEEKOM mini PCs, the Mini Air12's size is incredibly compact. Despite its size, it still packs a punch in terms of performance. Although editing photos and videos is more difficult for this setup, resulting in longer processing times and the need to view sources in lower resolutions for smooth playback, it can still get the job done. Where the Mini Air12 really shines is during lighter workloads such as browser management and word processing on multiple monitors. Supporting up to three monitors, this small unit can power an impressive multitasking setup.

With its small form factor and ability to be mounted under a desk or behind a monitor, the Mini Air12 can be stored neatly out of sight. I love how stealthy mini PCs are, especially for living room, kitchen, or bedroom setups where you don't necessarily want a PC on display.

Unsurprising limits

GEEKOM Mini Air12 review

As expected, the Mini Air12 has its limitations. The limited CPU power won't provide enough performance for intensive workloads like 3D rendering or gaming in the latest AAA titles. Additionally, the single-channel RAM configuration may make potential buyers hesitant. However, given the $249 price tag, I think GEEKOM offers enough here.

Final verdict

With the GEEKOM Mini Air12, users will benefit from a compact system that offers commendable performance in daily tasks and passable effort when it comes to photo and video editing. For $249, GEEKOM is aggressively undercutting the competition with its latest budget offering.
