Monster Hunter: World Hits Sales Milestone as Series Celebrates 20th Anniversary

Recently, the Monster Hunter the franchise is officially 20 years old. Meanwhile, recent figures show that the 2018 installment of MH: World has now reached a significant sales milestone.

This is what a new report from Capcom reveals. From the company website says that Monster Hunter: World has now sold over 25 million copies worldwide. This includes Iceborne Master Edition expeditions.

Less than a month after its release, World became “the best-selling Capcom title of all time.” Additionally, as of December 2023, the series as a whole has managed to move over 97 million units spread across multiple games.

With the release of the first installment on March 11, 2004, the Monster Hunter series became a staple license for the studio, achieving enormous success over the years.

To celebrate the 20th anniversary, a special sale was organized on Eighty sixallowing you to purchase discounted Monster Hunter: World merchandise, such as t-shirts, poster sets, and keychains.

The last installment in the series was the mobile game Monster Hunter Now, released in 2023 for iOS and Android.

Although Capcom's Resident Evil remains the developer and publisher's most successful series – with a total of 154 million copies sold worldwide – Monster Hunter is probably not far behind. Fans can look forward to the next game, Monster Hunter Wild, which is expected to release in 2025 and is expected to launch on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
