Samsung’s exceptional Galaxy S24 series sales are highlighted by yet another source،
Released at the end of January worldwide, the Galaxy S24, S24 Plus and S24 Ultra have already been considered major box office successes in a number of different reports. But since Samsung rarely makes sales results for its high-end smartphones public, it's really nice (and important) to see another reliable source putting together unofficial estimates.
The latest data collection comes from one of the most reputable market research companies, and while it doesn't actually reveal how many units of the S24
series have been shipped to date, it once again highlights plus the success of the new Android flagship trio compared to last year's S23 family.
Double-digit growth (almost) everywhere
For some reason, Counterpoint Research does not appear to have released a full report based on these new figures, so they are only available to us via a
Yonhap News Article and one
Article by Revegnus. The latter includes a neat little chart that makes everything pretty easy to understand… except where that 18% drop in the last section comes from.
In their first three weeks of commercial availability, the Galaxy S24, S24 Plus, and S24 Ultra have apparently seen double-digit sales growth over their predecessors in the
United States, Korea, and Western Europe.
These are obviously three of the most important global markets for
Samsung, and while it's not really surprising to see the Korean figures jump 22 percent, the 14 and 28 percent increases respectively estimated for the United States and Western Europe are truly impressive.
Because of this mysterious 18 percent drop in the last column of the chart, global sales are only up 8 percent, which is by no means a bad result. Mind you, the Galaxy S23, S23 Plus, and S23 Ultra also sold relatively well in their first weeks of availability this time last year, seemingly maintaining their appeal until the S24's launch.
As such, the S24 family clearly has big shoes to fill, which appears to be doing well so far thanks mainly to groundbreaking new AI technologies… and a particularly strong box office performance from the model Ultra.
The S24 Ultra is more popular than the S24 and S24 Plus… combined
Is the Galaxy S24 UltraTHEThe best Android phone money can buy right now? Our in-depth review strongly suggests so, and buyers are definitely paying attention. What attention? It is enough that more than one in two S24 series devices purchased worldwide between January 28 and February 17 is an Ultra.
That's right, the biggest and baddest member of the S24 family alone accounted for 52% of the trio's global shipments during the aforementioned period, with the 6.2-inch “standard” model accounting for 27% and the Plus variant only 21%. .
These actions actually aren't that different from comparing the S23 Ultra to last year's S23 and S23 Plus, but it's still remarkable to see Samsung doing such a solid job marketing its most expensive handsets.
Again, there's no word on total sales for these models or the high-end family as a whole today, but one source predicted Samsung would surpass 10 million units “within the month following the launch” a few weeks ago.
Assuming this figure is accurate, more than 5 million
Galaxy S24 Ultra copies may already be in circulation around the world, which is nothing short of astonishing. This is obviously not close to Apple's iPhone 15
Pro Max unit count
always sold out worldwide after several months of availability, but it's an impressive figure nonetheless.
