Bug fixes and security patches could arrive for iPhone this week with arrival of iOS 17.4.1،
Get ready for iPhone users. We know you just updated your phone to iOS 17.3 and iOS 17.4, but Apple is now believed to be working on iOS 17.4.1. Contrary to iOS 17.4, which allows users in the 27 EU countries to download apps, choose a mobile browser that is not powered by the WebKit browser engine, and pay for in-app purchases using a flat -third party form, iOS 17.4.1 will be a minor update.
While most of the media coverage on iOS 17.4 focused on ongoing changes in the EU, iOS 17.4 had useful features for every iPhone user. The new Stolen Device Protection feature can now protect your iPhone from password thieves at any time and not just when the phone is in an unknown location. More than 100 emoji have been added to the phone with the update, and the new City Digital Clock app widget can be added to the home screen displaying the time of a certain city.
For now, those running iOS 17.4 on their iPhone are up to date
MacRumors says its logs show Apple working internally on iOS 17.4.1 which should be a minor update that will include bug fixes and security fixes instead of new features. MacRumors claims that the appearance of the update in its logs indicates that the app should be released this week or next week. At the same time, the report states that Apple has also started testing internally iOS 17Versions .5 and beta of this update will be available soon.
Excitement is growing for iOS 18, and when Apple hosts WWDC 2024 in June, we'll get our first look at what some are calling the biggest update in years. Apple is expected to launch its AI initiative with iOS 18 which includes major improvements to Siri, something all iPhone users are looking forward to. After WWDC we should see iOS 18 released next September, around the same time the new iPhone 16 series launches.
For now you can check if iOS 17.4.1 arrived while going to Settings > General > Software update. You can check in as often as you like.
