Honor’s next flagship features at least one design curiosity

If you’re not familiar with Honor’s Magic 5 series, the company’s next flagship line will surprise you. The Chinese company is yet to make the Honor Magic 6 series official, but live images of at least one of the phones have already leaked.

Spotted by Technological perspectives, the photo of what is described as an Honor Magic 6 Pro review unit has been posted on Weibo. Although the post has since been deleted, the photos were recovered and shared with the media, so the “damage” is done.

What’s interesting about the Honor Magic 6 Pro is that its notch positioned in the upper middle part of the screen is shaped like a pill. As mentioned earlier, if you are not familiar with the Honor Magic 5 series which features the same pill-shaped notch but on the left side of the screen, it will seem like a curiosity rather than a productivity trait or of functionality.

While many manufacturers try to make the notch as small as possible, Honor believes in the power of the notch and makes it as big as possible. This is certainly something that will make the company’s flagship products stand out.

Still, judging by the fact that Honor has brought the same big notch as previous flagships, it seems the design gimmick has its fans. Although the Honor Magic 6 series is unlikely to launch this year, previous reports claimed that the phones would be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, which is not surprising at all.

Given that the Magic 5 lineup was originally introduced in March in China, we expect Honor’s next flagship to arrive around this time next year, but that’s just a guess .
