That said, the Samsung Galaxy S24 is surely the hottest thing on the Android side of the block; This is surely one of the best Android phones on the market. A true flagship product, with restraint, this is the phone to recommend if you want to get started in the Android ecosystem.

While it's a bit unfair to compare a true flagship and a mid-ranger which is obviously inferior in many ways, not everyone needs a flagship, so the Galaxy A55 5G has the unique ability to maximize earned value.

From the start, the Galaxy A55 5G dominates the Galaxy S24 with its much larger 6.6 inch body. After all, Samsung's latest flagship 'merely' comes with a 6.2-inch screen, making it a much more compact handset. Now, even if the Galaxy A55 5G is official, Samsung keeps silent about the chipset inside the Galaxy A55 5G. Still, we seem to know that the most likely piece of silicon inside the device is none other than the Exynos 1480 chip. This one is apparently a step up from the Exynos 1380 that powered the Last year's Galaxy A54 and should perform better, although the difference is unlikely to be palpable. The Galaxy A54 was certainly choppy and completely unimpressive in terms of performance, so we're cautiously preparing for further disappointment.

In the meantime, you can get the one from Samsung Galaxy S24 with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in the US, while the Exynos 2400 powers the phone in most international regions. We're excited to report that both versions work the same, and boy do they work! Certainly, the Snapdragon 8 generation 3 performs better in graphics-intensive tasks, but you shouldn't feel too down about having the Exynos version as well.

In terms of storage, both devices are available with 128 or 256 GB of native storage. The RAM difference is a little more confusing. While the Galaxy S24 only comes with 8 GB of RAM, the Galaxy A55 5G can also be yours with 12GB of RAM, which is a weird way to beat your flagship device. Who knows, the most efficient chip inside the Galaxy S24 this could mean it doesn't need more than 8GB of RAM…

Camera

Not all triple cameras are created equal.

THE Galaxy A55 5G comes with a triple camera, like its predecessors, and just like those phones, it relies on a proven setup consisting of a wide, ultra-wide, and macro camera. There is notably a 50 MP main camera, a 12 MP ultra-wide and finally a 5 MP macro camera which is only there for the participation price. On the front, users will be able to take selfies with a 32 MP front camera.

Samsung honored the Galaxy A55 5G with Enhanced Nightography, which means enhanced low-light shooting mode. The phone also features exemplary OIS and VDiS, which stands for video digital image stabilization and ensures that your photos and videos are as sharp as possible.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy S24 uses a proper triple-camera setup, consisting of a 50 MP main camera, a 12 MP ultra-wide, and a 10 MP 3X telephoto lens. This year, Samsung has refined its image processing, providing more natural photos. The horrible over-sharpening we had on previous generations has disappeared from photos and the tones are more natural. Photos are still a bit warm, but still a big improvement over the Galaxy S23.

Audio and haptic quality

While we don't know what the audio quality and haptic feedback experience will be on the Galaxy A55 5G, we are absolutely certain that the Galaxy S24 will be far superior on both accounts, as this is a true flagship phone.

Battery life and charging

David versus Goliath

THE Galaxy S24 with its 4,000 mAh battery, it's a fairly durable phone that achieves pretty good battery endurance. However, the flagship only charges up to 25W, which is essentially similar to its predecessors, but the device is still relatively fast.

Although it seems like a lot, don't count on the Galaxy A55 5G beats Galaxy S24, because the flagship could certainly surprise. However, each of these phones will last you a full day of intensive use, that is largely a given.
