France produced a dominant second-half performance to claim a 45-24 bonus point victory over Wales in Cardiff on Saturday in a see-saw contest in which the lead changed hands several times before that the visitors did not move away in the last 20 minutes.

France's five tries came via center Gael Fickou, scrum-halves Nolann Le Garrec and Maxime Lucu, prop Georges-Henri Colombe and Romain Taofifenua. Even if the performance is far from perfect, coach Fabien Galthié, under pressure, will be relieved by this victory.

Wales have now won just one of their last 12 Six Nations matches but were in the game for an hour scoring tries through winger Rio Dyer, scrum-half Tomos Williams and at center Joe Roberts. They lost all four games in this year's championship.

France moves to 11 points from its four matches, five behind leader Ireland.

They must beat England with a bonus point in Lyon next Saturday and hope Scotland surprise the Irish in Dublin to have a chance of lifting the trophy, although their inferior points difference will count against them.
