SAN FRANCISCO — Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry left the game after twisting his ankle late in the fourth quarter of the team's 125-122 loss to the Chicago Bulls on Thursday night. He didn't come back.

Warriors coach Steve Kerr had no word on Curry's injury after the game and said he needed to speak with the team's coaches. He said Curry had his right foot in an ice bath when he saw him in the locker room.

Curry's teammates were preparing for him to miss some games.

“I know we're going to miss him if he needs some time off,” Klay Thompson said. “We've been in this position before where he had time off, and we have to do it collectively. I know he'll be ready to go when he comes back, whenever that is. We just wish him a speedy recovery. .”

Curry, who was not in the Warriors' locker room when reporters were allowed in, has missed three games this season – two because of right knee soreness and one to rest.

Draymond Green said Curry's morale was high after Thursday's contest.

Curry rolled his ankle on a drive to the hoop with 3:51 left in the fourth quarter. Flanked by Chicago's Alex Caruso and Derrick White, Curry planted his right foot and rolled it over.

He tried to get out of it, but Kerr replaced him. Curry immediately headed to the locker room with player health and performance manager Rick Celebrini.

The injury occurred just two games after the Warriors got Andrew Wiggins back, giving them a full roster for the first time since November.

“It sucks, but everyone is dealing with injuries,” Green said. “You just have to do your best to deal with it.”

Curry finished with 15 points on 5-of-18 shooting, going scoreless in the fourth quarter.

If Curry misses time, Chris Paul would likely step into the starting lineup in his place. Paul started 11 games in his first season with the Warriors, but not since early January.

“We know he's more than capable. He's Chris Paul,” Green said. “It's been amazing to have C here, but then you have Steph going down — nobody's Steph Curry in the NBA. But knowing that you're going into the game with a guy who can win you game after game after game, It definitely gives you confidence knowing that you are more than capable of winning matches.
