The OnePlus 12R launched about a month ago and we already have a special Genshin Impact edition for the phone, continuing what appears to be a tradition of partnership between OnePlus and game developer HoYoverse.

So, what is its particularity? A cool new purple color for once, but also a ton of goodies in the box:

Even the SIM eject tool is themed after Kequing's stylus. As for the phone itself, the design hasn't changed much. It's just the color that's changed, and there's a cute graphic on his purple back for added style:

The software, of course, has a Kequing theme throughout, including Kequing ringtones and alerts, which can be heard in the video above.

Otherwise, the hardware inside and the software that runs it are mostly the same. OnePlus said there are minor adjustments to ensure that Genshin itself runs smoothly and takes priority over any other apps in the background. The design of the cable itself ensures you'll be able to play all day, all night, with an angled grip, which still allows you to grip the phone while charging:

The OnePlus 12R Genshin Impact Edition isn't terribly overpriced, we don't think. It's currently up for pre-order with an MSRP of $649, which is $150 more than a regular OnePlus 12R – a reasonable price hike if you're a fan and appreciate the collectibles and exclusive color and theme. Plus, the “Trade in ANY phone in ANY condition” promotion is valid here, so you can easily save $100 off this price, if you have a bad handset to ditch.

It comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, 16 GB RAM, 256 GB storage. We noted in our review of the OnePlus 12R that it is simply fast and smooth. Not too bad, even at $649 it's still a lot of phone, by early 2024 standards.
