Erling Haaland says he is “really happy” at Manchester City, but the striker has left the door open to a move away from the Etihad Stadium in the future.

Haaland has signed a contract with City until 2027 after arriving from Borussia Dortmund in a £52million move in 2022.

City are keen to agree a new deal with the 23-year-old after a successful 18 months which saw him score 80 goals in 84 games and win the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup.

Haaland insisted he was settled at the club but did not rule out eventually leaving.

“I’m really happy,” Haaland said at a press conference on Tuesday.

“Especially with the people around me; the manager, the administrators, the board, it's an amazing group of people and I'm really happy, I have to say.

“If I say this now it will probably make headlines, tomorrow you never know what the future holds but I'm happy. You can write this but you also have to write everything I said before . I am happy. “

Haaland is heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid, who are keen to sign Kylian Mbappé from Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

Reports in Spain suggest that, despite his success on the pitch, Haaland has become frustrated with life in Manchester, but the Norwegian took the opportunity to play down speculation.

“I'm enjoying life. I'm enjoying life with my loved ones and I'm enjoying it. I don't know what else to say,” Haaland said.

Haaland has more than three years left on his contract but City would like to extend the deal for at least one more season.

He will be 27 when his contract ends and has said he is only focused on the second half of the season with City rather than negotiations to extend his stay.

“Now I mainly focus on the field,” he said.

“There are a lot of games. Two days ago it was the Manchester derby, now the Champions League, Sunday it's Liverpool, I think I should focus on that. I don't think I should focus on something else for now.”
