Oppo Find X7 Ultra review: two zoom scopes on a real S24 Ultra killer،
, Oppo proves once again that it is always one or two steps ahead of the competition, even over the Apple-Samsung duopoly which is stifling the lists of American operators. Much like Samsung, Oppo has brought forward the release of its first 2024 flagship and named it Find X7 Ultra, as if to leave little doubt about which flagship phone it will directly target.
This isn't the only camera upgrade for Oppo's new flagship, as it also introduces Sony's revolutionary 1-inch LYT-900 sensor and a new HyperTone imaging architecture that enables HDR more natural, developed in partnership with the camera professionals at Hasselblad.
Design and display of the Oppo Find X7 Ultra
The leather material provides excellent traction in the hand and feels warmer than the back of an average phone. Combined with the curved front screen, it's very easy to grip and use with one hand, especially since the large, round Hasselblad camera island is centered so your fingers don't get in the way of a good photo, while the weight distribution from top to bottom is also rather balanced.
Display
Oppo's factory per-unit panel calibration takes just seconds over the phone, but in return delivers breathtaking Delta values that ensure natural or vivid color schemes extremely close to the wide color reference gamut or respective standard. In other words, it is a phone for online shopping and viewing images, as well as a colorimetric video projector.

Its low-light prowess now covers the equivalent focal length range from 14mm to 270mm telemacro with equal quality, aided by the new HyperTone image engine. The AI-powered HyperTone system aims to put an end to the unnatural HDR photos that so many computational photography efforts now produce. Oppo says that HyperTone “protects the integrity of the photo, preserving highlights, shadows and midtones with a natural look“, and the Find X7 Ultra camera samples below prove his point.
Portraits
Needless to say, the most comprehensive high-quality zoom range available on any phone also offers the ability to take stunning portraits and macro shots. Find X7 Ultra's Portrait mode increases the available focal lengths to four – at 23mm, 44mm, 65mm and 135mm – each.calibrated for a different Hasselblad lens, producing cinematic bokeh with foreground and background depth” which can isolate the subject down to a single hair.
