Don’t expect Apple to host an event to introduce its new iPad tablets،

We expect Apple to launch a slew of new iPad models this year, including the 11-inch and 13-inch iPad Pro series (2024), the first iPad tablets to feature OLED panels. The new tablets will be powered by the 3nm Apple M3 SoC. We should also see Apple launch a 10.9-inch iPad Air (2024) and add an all-new 12.9-inch iPad Air model (2024). Both iPad Air tablets are expected to feature the 5nm Apple M2 chipset. We also got to see improved accessories for the new iPad Pro line, such as a new Magic Keyboard and an improved Apple Pencil.
You're probably wondering when Apple will hold an event to unveil the new tablets and accessories. Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, in the latest edition of its Power On newsletter, says you shouldn't expect Apple to pull out all the bells and whistles to unveil the first new iPads seen in over a year. Gurman says these products are being built overseas and we should expect Apple to announce them soon.
But instead of broadcasting an event showcasing the new iPad models, Gurman says Apple will announce them on its website using online videos and ad campaigns. Of course, Apple has already done this with other iPad models and despite introducing a new high-end iPad Pro (2024) series with OLED panels, the tech giant believes that this does not justify creating a big ruckus.

As for when we'll see the new iPad Pro (2024) line and iPad Air (2024) tablets, the smart money has been betting on a release this month (which is March, by the way) or the next and Gurman agrees. There has also been talk of a seventh-generation iPad mini, although that tablet might not see the light of day until the second half of this year.

You may remember how demand for the iPad (and all tablets) exploded during the pandemic because they were the ideal device for homebound students and executives. But the post-pandemic crisis has hit the category hard and it will be interesting to see if waiting a full year before launching new iPad models has done anything to meet consumer demand.
