Alexander Volkanovski was left confused by UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev’s attempted intimidation as the two prepare to fight in the octagon for a second time.
Volkanovski showed up on less than two weeks’ notice to face Makhachev for the lightweight title in Abu Dhabi after Charles Oliveira was forced out due to a nasty cut suffered during a fight.

Makhachev won the first meeting between the two in Perth to retain his lightweight belt, although many felt Volkanovski had done enough to cause an almighty upset.
The two men will now face off in Abu Dhabi as Makhachev emerges as the favorite for victory, but Volkanovski is undeterred by the scale of the task ahead of him.
He is also unfazed by what he sees as a weak attempt at intimidation from the Russian superstar as the two men look at each other for the first time since arriving in the UAE.
“I’ve seen it right before,” Volkanovski said Main events Niko Pajarillo.
“It was very quick. Generally I’m fine, if there’s a problem it’s because they started it. We would have been fine.
“But I saw him, he didn’t look very happy.

“I don’t know if he was looking at me or trying to intimidate me. I don’t know what he was trying to do.
“But I don’t get intimidated easily. Especially when the last thing I remember is me on top of him, on the ground and pounding him.
“So it’s hard to intimidate me when that’s all I remember.”
