THE Counter-Strike 2 update patch notes For February 29 were revealed. The newly released patch applies fixes and fixes freezing time caused by connection errors. Here is the full list of patch notes.

Counter-Strike 2 February 29 Update Fixes Faulty Spawns

Miscellaneous fixes

  • Spawn position is no longer randomly determined when a player reconnects to a server during a freeze period. Spawn point sequence is now set to the start of the map and is saved/restored from round save files
    • On official matchmaking servers, players who disconnect and reconnect during the freeze will respawn at their assigned spawn point at the start of the round.
    • On community servers, players who disconnect and reconnect during freeze time will be assigned one of five spawn positions assigned to the team during that round.
    • When restoring from a round's save files (which is recommended in tournament settings after disconnecting/reconnecting), players will appear in the positions they were originally assigned to at the start of that round.
  • Fixed a bug where players would see a black screen after disconnecting and reconnecting multiple times during a technical delay.
  • Fixed a bug where players disconnecting and reconnecting to a competitive match would interact incorrectly with the bot spawn algorithm.
  • Fixed some cases where MVP music was not playing or was playing over end of round music.
  • Fixed a bug in Deathmatch where wins during warm-up counted towards the health shot reward and Zeus's score bonus.
  • Fixed players jumping higher than normal when switching to a low framerate.
  • Fixed a case where weapon switches were sometimes ignored by the server.
  • Fixed smoke shadow rendering issues and performance improvements
  • Fixed a bug where the game crashed on Linux when alt-tabbing
  • Fixed some cases where a frame rate issue occurred due to shader compilation
  • Improved behavior when user input does not arrive on time at the server due to packet loss or client frame rate issues.
  • Adjusted various elements of the music kit in the NIGHTMODE Music Kit box (ISOxo, Knock2 and TWERL and Ekko & Sidetrack)
  • Fixed a case where some players in North America were still unable to accept a match on a server in Europe due to SDR choosing an invalid route.
  • Players who are kicked from official competitive servers for too many suicides will now benefit from a competitive cooldown.
  • Adjusted logical tracking player idle state to exclude freezing and turn timeout periods.
  • Chickens no longer interact with dropped weapons
  • Sniper scope overlay no longer appears in tool viewports (such as Hammer)

Map Changes

  • Adjusted spawn location priorities for Prime and Competitive game modes in Anubis, Inferno, Mirage, Nuke, Overpass, and Vertigo.

Hell

  • Fixed community-reported gaps in the Trike map and model
  • Raised plywood at the top of Banana to cover head visibility
  • Smoothed terrain movements in Banana and Bombsite A
  • Raised Arch exit to Mid (or “Raised Arch to Arch”)
  • Bench removed at Arch near the library
  • Construction cone removed at underpass

Workshop updates and fixes

  • Fix lightmaps limited to 4k resolution in CS2 workbench tools
  • Updated sticker inspection to support wear in 0.1 increments to match sticker scraping.
  • Added roughness texture to foil stickers in Element Editor
  • Updated help system for new sticker features
