The OnePlus 12R launched last month, but it looks like OnePlus isn't done with surprises. It was already a nice midranger with an aggressive price, very smooth performance and impressive battery life. Well, we now have the Genshin Impact Edition!

Is the OnePlus 12R Genshin Impact Edition different from the OnePlus 12R?

Especially not – it has the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, 16 GB of RAM, 256 GB of storage. Same software as on the vanilla OnePlus 12R, but with a touch of originality.

Firstly, as you might expect, there is a full theme, complete with wallpapers, icons and notification tones. This year's Genshin Edition is inspired by the character Kequing, so everything is purple, she's on the wallpapers, and her voice for sound effects (the voice actress actually recorded lines for the OnePlus phone).

Next, OnePlus claims that there have been special software tweaks to specifically optimize games in Genshin. The game should be faster at loading fast travel points and should even stay open in the background when you minimize it a bit, with Android prioritizing it.

Collectibles!

Of course, there's a whole goody box of collectibles for the OnePlus 12R Genshin Impact Edition. A special purple case, charger and cable, Chibi sticker, pin and stand to show off your collection, even the SIM eject tool is inspired by Kequing's outfit.

The OnePlus 12R Genshin Impact Edition goes on sale on March 21, starting at $649.99. That's a $150 increase over the price of the standard OnePlus 12R – considering it's a special edition item with so much goodness, it seems like a fair deal. Especially if you're a Genshin fan!
