Behold the Galaxy Z Fold 6 in all its boxy glory in these gorgeous leaked renders!،

Between the revolutionary Galaxy Ring and a highly anticipated An alternative to Apple Vision Pro that may or may not see the light of day this year, Samsung is clearly working hard on more than “routine” upgrades to its smartphones, tablets and smartwatches at the moment.

But the tech giant undoubtedly remains as focused as ever on its upcoming high-end foldable releases, which are expected to arrive in July. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 has been in the news a bit more than the Z Flip 6 over the past few weeks, so it shouldn't be shocking to see this bad boy rendered in all its (familiar) glory today by Steve Hemmerstoffer (who else?) in collaboration with the people at Smartprix.

The same but different

If you expected Samsung to reinvent the wheel foldable smartphone this year, we have some bad news to tell you today – the Z-fold 6 largely resembles last year's Galaxy Z Fold 5. We're talking about the same 7.6-inch main screen and 6.2-inch cover screen, a pretty much unchanged (at least at first glance) triple rear camera setup with a separate LED. flash on the side, as well as a “droplet” style hinge designed to make the crease formed by repeated folding and unfolding of the main panel as subtle as possible.
But just like the hugely popular and subtly redesigned Galaxy S24 Ultra, the Z-fold 6 looks set to change at least one major thing about the overall look of its predecessor, swapping curves for very sharp edges and thus creating a square frame that you'll love…or love to hate.
As a direct result, the overall width of Samsung's top folding dog is likely to increase from 129.9 to 132.5mm, but with the height of the product expected to drop from 154.9 to 153.5mm, the maneuverability of the phone should not be greatly affected.

The thickness, meanwhile, is expected to remain unchanged at 6.1mm (when unfolded), which obviously means Samsung won't be putting a stylus case on the Galaxy Z-fold 6 either. Of course, S Pen support will still be offered, but you'll need to purchase the writing and drawing accessory separately, just like the Z fold 5.

Oddly enough, the folded thickness of this next-generation Samsung powerhouse is not mentioned anywhere in the latest Smartprix reportwe will therefore have to wait a little longer to obtain confirmation of a recent rumor calling for a reduction from 13.4 to 11 mm in this department.

And the specifications?

While it may seem premature to talk about the specifications of a product that is all but guaranteed to release in July, several months before its official announcement, several recent reports and today's story have already painted the picture of Galaxy Z-fold 6 a fairly complete and mostly reliable picture.
Unfortunately, this thing is no longer expected to borrow the cutting-edge cameras from the S24 Ultra, but instead should make do with the same old 50 + 10 + 12MP triple shot system as the Z fold 5 in addition to a 10MP cover snapper and a 4MP sensor integrated directly into the 7.6-inch main screen.
Under the hood, a high-end Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor for Galaxy is essentially set in stone, as are 12 and 16 GB RAM options paired with up to 1 TB of storage space. Previously expected to grow in size, the 4,400mAh battery might not have been overhauled after all, both in terms of capacity and decent but far from mind-blowing 25W charging speeds.

That doesn't leave much room for major improvement, but for what it's worth, the secondary 6.2-inch display could benefit from Gorilla Glass Armor protection while the primary display is likely to get a boost from 1,750 nits at around 2,600 nits of peak brightness. Other notable improvements are of course still possible and could be revealed in the coming months.
