Smart Connect from Lenovo and Motorola brings seamless connectivity to compatible devices here
With this new feature, you will no longer need to purchase devices with the same operating system to benefit from a connected ecosystem. Now you can amplify everything displayed on your Moto phone onto a bigger screen.
Here are the features offered by Smart Connect:
- Cross control: Allows you to easily navigate between PC, tablet and phone with a single keyboard and mouse. This can come in handy when you're editing a document on a Lenovo PC and retrieving content from a tablet, while simultaneously meeting with colleagues via your phone.
- Swipe to stream: You can now transfer app activities across devices with a single swipe. For example, start watching a video on a tablet and continue where you left off on your PC.
- Synchronizing notifications: Make sure you never miss a notification. Now your notifications will be visible on any device, so you won't need to switch between devices to check them.
- Sharing Center: allows you to share files and media across different compatible devices.
- Smart clipboard: helps you copy images or text between devices – on phones, PCs or tablets as if you were on a single device
- Instant hotspot: Eliminate internet connectivity issues by turning your phone into a hotspot for a tablet or PC
- Webcam: Turn your phone into a webcam for video calls or live streams, or film your video call on a big-screen TV
All these features sound epic, right? To benefit from this, you will need to have a Lenovo PC running Windows 10 or later (you can get the feature from the Microsoft store). It will also be available for select Lenovo tablets and Motorola devices through the Google Play Store.
SmartConnect will be available in the coming months, although Motorola doesn't say exactly when. The exact Motorola Phones and which Lenovo tablets will be able to run the feature will be revealed later during the official launch of the feature. When we know more, we'll be sure to let you know, so stay tuned!
