Apple Ring, AirPods with cameras and AI, & Smart Glasses،
For years, many Apple products were tipped but never saw the light of day. Apple has collected hundreds of patents for such products over the years and it appears some of them are in the works. The latest report from Bloomberg's Mark Gurman highlights some of the products that may or may not be in development. It includes a smart ring, AirPods with a camera and AR smart glasses.
Apple is exploring something big in the wearable space
According to Mark Gurman's Power On newsletter, the Apple Ring, an alternative to the upcoming Samsung Ring and Oura Ring, is potentially in the works. It is a smartwatch-like health and fitness wearable device that will collect your fitness-related data and correct it with the paired iPhone. It will help you monitor your health stats without worrying about a dead battery and plugging it into a power source from time to time. It has been in the works for a few years, but its release is still unknown.
Another product that Apple could be working on in the long term is a pair of smart glasses. Okay, I know you may have already heard about it and that the Cupertino-based giant has potentially abandoned the project, but it's still in the works.
The newsletter mentions that we could get AR-powered smart glasses in a few years that rival Amazon Echo Frames and Meta's Ray-Ban Smart. These specs will have features for playing music (potentially replacing AirPods), recording videos and beyond.
The $3,500 Apple Vision Pro has already taken the world by storm. With this, these smart glasses could offer potential buyers a way to get the latest technology without spending a fortune, as these specifications could introduce AI features, more sensors, bigger batteries, and more. Apple is also working on an affordable version of Apple Vision Pro that could arrive next year and I think these smart glasses could follow suit.
Another project in the works behind closed doors is AirPods with cameras. Yes, Apple is reportedly exploring the idea of integrating AirPods with cameras, health sensors, and advanced AI. The report mentions that none of the aforementioned projects could fly (at least this year), it's a spectacle to see what Apple is exploring in the wearable space.
