Feel the time: Pixel Watch might soon get a vibration time-telling feature،

These days, smartwatches go beyond just showing the time; they offer different ways to check it. Now, Google is reportedly improving the capabilities of its Pixel Watch, exploring additional methods for users to check the time.

9to5Google reports that a Reddit user has found a new vibrating watch option on its Pixel Watch 2. This feature allows the watch to tell the time with vibrations. When the screen is on, you can simply tap the watch face with two fingers to check the time: one tap for the hour and two taps for the minutes.

It looks like there will be two vibration choices: Numbers and Terse. In numbers, your Pixel Watch will make a long vibe for 10 and a short vibe for one. With Terse, the time is rounded to the nearest quarter and the watch emits a short ambience every 15 minutes. Additionally, Google can offer up to five mood speeds for more customization.

Since few users seem to spot this new feature on their Pixel Watch, this suggests that Google is doing A/B testing via a server-side push. To check if it is on your Pixel Watch 2, go to Settings > Vibration. But even if you see the option, chances are it won't work yet.

This new feature is a nice way to check the time without glancing at your watch or in situations where you don't want to turn the watch on, like in a meeting or in a movie theater. The Apple Watch has a similar feature called “Taptic Time,” which even allows you to read Morse code.

At the moment it is not clear if this new vibration feature will only be for the Pixel Watch 2 or if it will happen to the first generation Pixel Watch, Also. Since this feature has appeared now, it looks like Google might include it in the March 2024 Pixel Feature Drop. But we'll have to wait to know for sure. Keep an eye out for updates.
