Google To Start Manufacturing Pixel Phones In India By Next Quarter: Report،

Last year, Google announced that it would start manufacturing Pixel phones in India in 2024. Now, according to a recent report from Nikkei Asia, the Alphabet-owned company has asked its suppliers to start manufacturing its phones in the country by the next quarter. The company wants to diversify its supply chain outside of China and benefit from the growing smartphone market in India.

Google will start manufacturing the Pixel 8 Pro in India

In the coming weeks, the company will prepare for production of the Pixel 8 Pro in South India. Google aims to produce smartphones by the second quarter of this year. It will then focus on the Pixel 8, which will be assembled in northern India by the middle of this year.

As more and more smartphone companies venture into smartphone manufacturing in the country, several assembly and component suppliers have come to India. Google's competitors, Apple and Samsung, benefit from manufacturing their smartphones in the country. They benefit from several discounts from the government, and following the 'Made in India' movement also helps them in making sales.

Manufacturing phones locally could help the company offer attractive discounts

Last year, Google reached a milestone by selling 10 million smartphones for the first time. It was also the year the company released its first foldable smartphone. With the diversification of the supply chain, the company must hope to increase its sales in India.

Manufacturing its phones here will also allow Google to offer decent discounts and attract more users to its smartphone. Ultimately, the company wants to sell more than 10 million smartphones in 2024.
