A few key Nothing Phone (2a) specs and features are now officially confirmed،

Taking a cue from OnePlus' unconventional marketing playbook, Nothing (which just so happens to be owned by a OnePlus co-founder) continues to create buzz around its next big phone in the most unorthodox of ways, debunking rumors on Twitter and registered with technical publications to reveal various details and selling points ahead of the said handset's announcement on March 5.

Widely expected until very recently to feature a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 processor, it is now confirmed that the Nothing Phone (2a) will opt for a different chipset from the same manufacturer. This is the Dimensity 7200 Pro, which Nothing says will make a big difference… even if the name doesn't exactly suggest a major improvement.
Interestingly, this is a processor that no other device has ever used, partly because it was “co-designed” by MediaTek in partnership with Nothing specifically for the (upper) mid-range 2a. This is actually the smartphone maker's first collaboration with the Chinese semiconductor giant after Nothing Phone (1) and Phone (2) both used Qualcomm Snapdragons, and according to Carl Pei, the decision Taking a different route this time was largely based on finding the best “balance between energy efficiency and speed.”
Of course, it can be assumed that production costs also played an important role in the decision-making process, especially since we (naturally) expect the Nothing Phone (2a) to be priced lower than that of its slightly more upscale predecessors.

We don't know how much yet (at least we know for sure), but interestingly enough, Pei claims that “the Phone 2a is a marked improvement over the Phone 1”, offering 13% more raw power and a 16% gain in efficiency. “in terms of battery consumption.”

The Nothing Phone (2a) is not yet opposed to the Nothing Phone (2) in the same departments for… fairly obvious reasons, and although Carl Pei is ready to reveal that this upcoming mobile device will also pack up to 12GB of RAM, its target audience will apparently be “people less concerned with the latest specs, and more concerned with basic features coupled with great performance and Nothing's signature design both inside and out. and outside.”
You can probably take this as indirect corroboration of the most recently leaked design, which is arguably much flashier and more in line with Nothing's “core” aesthetic values than what's already been making the rounds social media, although you will have to wait a bit. a little more for real, proper and complete confirmation of… everything that isn't set in stone right now.
