If you are a WhatsApp user with over 3 billion users worldwide, chances are you have noticed the app's frequent updates and addition of new features. There is now another one in the works, aimed at improving user comfort.

According to WABetaInfoa reliable source for WhatsApp updates, the latest beta version of WhatsApp for Android (version 2.24.5.5), available on the Google Play Store, indicates that WhatsApp is working on introducing the option to select favorite contacts directly in the Android application.

As shown in the screenshot, users will soon have the option to select their favorite contacts. Once chosen, these favorites will appear prominently at the top of the Calls tab, making it easier to contact your most contacted users with a single click.

Users will be able to manually select their favorite contacts from the contact picker, creating a personalized experience based on their preferences.

The Favorites bar will allow you to call your favorite contacts on WhatsApp much more quickly. If you often make calls using WhatsApp, this shortcut will save you valuable time, eliminating the need to repeatedly search through your call log or contact list.

The feature to set favorite contacts for quick calls is currently in development and should be available in a future app update.

Additionally, the Meta-owned messaging app is expected to undergo an update that could change the appearance of the status updates bar. Additionally, due to a recently passed law in the EU, WhatsApp could introduce cross-platform use, allowing users to send messages to other apps such as iMessage, Telegram, Google Messages and Signal.
