If one Pixel 6 Pro owner gets her way, Google will have to recall device and issue refunds،

Filed by Jennifer Hyatt, the suit states that Pixel 6 Pro has a defect that makes it unbearably hot. Law360 reports (via Main class actions) that Hyatt came to this conclusion after making numerous unit replacements, each of which was prone to overheating.

Hyatt believes Google was aware of the defect and cites as evidence an article titled “Help stop your Pixel phone from feeling too hot or hot” on the company's website. The plaintiff claims that, even though it was aware of the defect, Google failed to warn consumers that the Pixel 6 Pro had a tendency to overheat and marketed it as if nothing was wrong with the device.

Lawsuit wants Google to serve ads to warn Pixel 6 Pro notify users of the defect, recall all handsets and refund those who purchased the device.

Hyatt wants to represent California consumers who purchased the Pixel 6 Pro in the state. The lawsuit states that Google is guilty of violating the California Consumer Legal Remedies Act, the False Advertising Act, the Unfair Competition Act and the Song-Beverly Consumer Guarantee Act.

It remains to be seen whether the lawsuit will go to trial or be dismissed in court.

Last year, a separate lawsuit was filed against Google over misleading claims about the Pixel 6 duo's charging capabilities.
Google makes excellent smartphones and even though the Pixel 6 suffered from several problems, it may be a bit of an exaggeration to say that all The professional models had a defect that caused them to overheat, even though the company could have behaved more responsibly.
