Oppo Find N3 pre-orders open on October 20, here is everything you need to know،

Oppo’s latest foldable flagship, Find N3 (aka OnePlus Open), will go global in less than a month. The Chinese company has just announced the opening of pre-orders for the Oppo Find N3 on October 20, without revealing all the countries in which customers will be able to pick up its new phone.

Additionally, the Oppo Find N3 will not be cheaper than other similar products from other brands like Samsung and Honor. The Find N3 (16/512GB) costs a whopping SGD2,399, or around $1,740 in total.

Sure, some retailers will offer discounts and trade-in deals, but so will Samsung, so it looks like Oppo’s foldable flagship will be a tough sell after all. But let’s take a look at what’s under the hood so you can make an informed decision if you’re really considering Oppo’s new foldable smartphone.

First of all, Oppo Find N3 has impressive 6.3-inch exterior and 7.8-inch unfolded displays. When folded it looks like a regular phone, while unfolded it becomes a traditional tablet.

According to Oppo, the displays are capable of displaying over 425 pixels per inch and 1,440Hz PWM dimming, which should help take the strain off your eyes. Naturally, they both feature a dynamic 120Hz refresh rate for smooth gaming and scrolling, as well as a peak brightness of 2,800 nits (even in direct sunlight).

After testing the waters with the N and Find N2, Oppo has gone all out with its latest foldable flagship, featuring the third-generation Flexion hinge. Although it’s smaller than the previous generation’s hinge, the one at the heart of the Find N3 is more durable.

Additionally, the phone offers IPX splash resistance. Most importantly, Oppo claims that the Find N3 is the first phone to be independently tested to withstand 1 million bends by TUV Rheinland, a brand that denotes trust and assures customers that a product has been thoroughly tested for security , its quality and its durability.

When it comes to size, the Oppo Find N3 is neither the lightest nor the smallest foldable smartphone on the market. However, the phone is quite thin, at just 5.8mm when open and 11.7mm when closed. Oppo has confirmed that the device weighs 239g in vegan leather, a bit heavier than Honor’s Magic V2 which weighs 237g, but much lighter than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 (253g).

High-end camera capabilities

Moving on to the camera, the phone’s photographic capabilities are quite impressive. The Find N3 is one of the first foldable smartphones to feature Sony’s 48-megapixel LYTIA sensor, a two-layer stacked CMOS image sensor that promises to create more space to receive light. In theory, this should result in reduced noise, greater dynamic range, and highly detailed photos and videos. The Find N3’s 48-megapixel ultra-wide camera features a sensor that is more than 100% larger than the ultra-wide sensors on other flagship foldables, Oppo claims. It has autofocus and can capture dynamic macro and group photos. But wait, there’s more!

The N3 phone’s ultra-thin periscope telephoto lens combines 64-megapixel resolution with a fast f/2.6 aperture for sharp photos day or night. Those who like to take selfies haven’t been neglected either, as Oppo has included the improved Hasselblad portrait mode.

On the hardware front, Oppo Find N3 is very powerful thanks to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, which is complemented by 512 GB of storage (UFS 4.0) and 16 GB of RAM (LPDDR5X). Compared to the last generation chipsets, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 delivers 35% improved performance and 40% overall efficiency.

Coming to the battery, the Oppo Find N3 is powered by a 4,800mAh battery, which supports 67W SUPERVOCC fast mapping. According to Oppo, the phone’s battery should charge to 80% in 30 minutes and 100% in just 42 minutes.

As expected, Oppo Find N3 runs Android 13 with ColorOS 13.2 and will receive four years of software updates, as well as five years of security updates. The foldable flagship will launch globally, but US customers will likely get the OnePlus Open instead, which is pretty much the same thing.
