New confirmation that young people love the iPhone has arrived – this time, it’s the results of the latest survey from investment bank Piper Sandler. Apple’s smartphone is the first choice of teenagers and no economic downturn seems to be able to change their minds and change their minds. on the Android path (via AppleInsider).

For the survey, Piper Sandler included 9,193 teenagers in the United States, ages 15.7. The results are as follows: 87% of American teens own an iPhone and 88% say they plan to buy another one in the future.

The previous report was from April 2023, and you can say what you want about Gen Z, but at least they show extreme loyalty to Apple: back then the numbers were exactly the same with 87 % confirming that they owned or own an iPhone and 88% say they would (with their own money, right?) pay full price for another.

What about the Apple Watch?

There is, however, a difference between April and October in Piper Sandler’s reporting on the issue of smartwatch ownership. In April, 35% of teens surveyed owned an Apple Watch, up from 31% in October 2022. For October 2023, that figure dropped to 34% of U.S. teens owning an Apple smartwatch. If the 9,193 people surveyed accurately represent the rest of American teens, that would mean about 14 million Apple Watches are in use among young people.

Apple dominated the survey on the topic of payment apps – no surprise here. Apple Pay ranked first in the new report, with 42% of respondents having used it in the month preceding this question.

When it comes to AR/VR devices, the trend is increasing: 31% of teens now own a VR device, up from 29% in April 2023. However, actual usage of VR devices has decreased by approximately 14%. at around 10%. Maybe they are all waiting for the Vision Pro in 2024? That remains to be seen.
