Apple finally boots fake crypto app from the App Store but not before over $100k was stolen،

The reason Apple is opposed to allowing iPhone users to download apps is that it allows users to install potentially dangerous apps on their devices that Apple hasn't had a chance to review. But this verification process doesn't always prevent a malicious app from being listed in the App Store. Recently, Apple removed an app from the App Store that allowed iOS users to illegally access streaming movies and TV shows.
The latest incident involves a fake app named Rabby Wallet & Crypto Solution. The problem is that there is a real crypto app called Rabby Wallet that is under review by Apple. The developer of the real Rabby Wallet app wrote a tweet that says: “A FAKE iOS app has resurfaced. Please note that our iOS app is still under review. Identify the real app by developer: DeBank (Android) and DeBank Global Pte. Ltd. (iOS) For secure downloads, use ONLY our official website: http://rabby.io“.
Since the real app has not yet been approved and does not have a listing on the App Store, the cybercriminals behind Rabby Wallet & Crypto Solution are taking advantage of the absence of the real app. On Reddit, follower Manolo wrote about the situation and pointed out how the fake app had copied the logo of the real one. He says: “What is very concerning is how a closed ecosystem like the Apple Appstore would allow blatant use of the real logo, impersonating the real wallet, resulting in [sic] a huge amount of money lost….” Manolo says that according to complaints posted on Rabby Discord, more than $100,000 was stolen by the fake app.
Just two days ago, the fake app was still in the App Store but has since been removed by Apple. On the tech giant's Discussions pageone iPhone user wrote: “I was also scammed out of around $5,000 from this scam app this morning. I have filed a support request with Apple to see if there is a way for a refund, as the app has been reported several times before and is still available. standing for 4 years now. I will also provide an update on the case if anything comes from my report as well.
Although Apple removed the fraudulent app, it might still be on your iPhone. If Rabby Wallet & Crypto Solution is installed on your device, uninstall it immediately.
