Thomas Tuchel vows to stay at Bayern Munich, gets CEO’s support،

Thomas Tuchel insisted he can solve the problems at Bayern Munich despite his side losing their third competitive match in a row on Sunday for the first time since May 2015.

Bayern were beaten 3-2 at VfL Bochum to increase pressure on the German coach, who was already under fire after last weekend's 3-0 defeat to Xabi Alonso's Bayer Leverkusen.

Bayern are now eight points behind Leverkusen, undefeated after 22 Bundesliga games.

“If you ask me, if I still believe in myself and the coaching team that can change things, yes,” Tuchel said after the loss to Bochum.

“Increasing pressure? It happens after every defeat. But today we never stopped, we never stopped trying.”

Tuchel may take comfort from Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen's comments after the match, when asked if the 2021 Champions League winner would remain in charge for the team's next match against RB Leipzig .

“Of course,” Dreesen said. “I'm not a fan of monstrous statements of support from coaches – they usually wear off after a week.

“But this [Tuchel’s future] this is not a problem we are facing at the moment. We have to focus on our next matches. »

Bayern midfielder Leon Goretzka has compared Bayern's losing streak – against Leverkusen, Lazio in the Champions League and now Bochum – to a scary movie.

“It feels like a never-ending horror movie. Everything is going against us right now.” he said.

“We can sit here again and say we started well. But now you feel stupid for limiting yourself to half an hour. In the end, we tried everything, so you can't blame us .”

Bayern's defeat to Bochum was temporarily interrupted by fans' protests over a proposed deal to sell a future stake in the league to a private equity investor.

“This interruption made us lose our rhythm. Today was a victory of mentality over quality,” Dreesen said.

“If we play this game five more times, we will win it five times,” Tuchel added. “I don’t blame the players today.”
