Design and size
Mid-range versus premium, how to copy?
An intriguing aspect of the Galaxy A55 could be its raised side bezel which will house the power button and volume rocker, an interesting design. Samsung calls this one “Key Island,” and it looks like something that will differentiate the mid-range product from more popular phones.
Hopefully, the Galaxy A55 features slightly thinner bezels than last year's Galaxy A54, which isn't at all impressive in that regard.
Another difference is the water and dust resistance of the two devices. The Galaxy A55 will feature IP67 certification, while the Galaxy S24 has the most impressive IP68. The difference between the two is the maximum depth you can submerge your phone to: IP68 lets you submerge your device up to 1.5 meters, while IP67 lets you submerge your device up to 1.5 meters , while IP67 allows you to submerge your device up to 1 meter. Not a big difference, in all honesty.
As mentioned, the Galaxy A55 will feature a 6.5-inch display, while the Galaxy S24 features a 6.2-inch panel.
When it comes to the Galaxy A55, we know little other than that it will be an OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy S24 certainly uses one of the most beautiful screens around. Despite its FHD+ resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels, it is an OLED A+ display with a switching refresh rate of 1 to 120 Hz for a very smooth experience.
Performance and software
Exynos, we meet again…
Samsung is rumored to forgo Qualcomm's Snapdragon chip lineup for the Galaxy A55 and rely on its own Exynos 1480 chipset. That's fine as long as the company optimizes for performance, unlike the choppy and totally unreliable Galaxy A54. impressive last year. We are hopeful, but we are surely preparing for disappointment.
Camera
Lorem ipsum
The Galaxy A55 will come with a triple camera, like its predecessors, and just like those, it will rely on the proven setup consisting of a wide, ultra-wide and macro camera. It's high time Samsung shook up the paradigm and gave us something more exciting than a useless macro camera. Isn't now the perfect time to add a telephoto lens to affordable devices, Samsung?
Meanwhile, the Galaxy S24 uses a proper triple-camera setup, consisting of a 50 MP main camera, a 12 MP ultra-wide, and a 10 MP 3X telephoto lens. This year, Samsung has refined its image processing, providing more natural photos.
Audio and haptic quality
While we don't know what the audio quality and haptic feedback experience will be on the Galaxy A55, we are quite sure that the Galaxy S24 will be far superior on both accounts, as this is a true flagship phone.
Battery life and charging
Even Stevens?
THE Galaxy S24 with its 4,000 mAh battery, it's a fairly durable phone that achieves pretty good battery endurance. Charging tops out at 25W, but the phone ramps up relatively quickly.
Summary
THE Galaxy S24 will undoubtedly be the phone of choice for those who want a premium experience, albeit at a significantly higher price than the Galaxy A55's expected price.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy A55 is shaping up to be another iterative release for Samsung, with few changes from the previous generation Galaxy A54. It might offer good value for money for those who aren't willing to shell out big bucks for a phone, but
