No Man’s Sky Trailer Outlines Omega Update, Free This Weekend

Recently, No Man's Sky dropped a hint on what many thought was a new update coming, and now a new trailer outlines the Omega patch. And the best part: the game is completely free for the next few days.

The Omega update “invites everyone to embark on a new shared interstellar expedition,” the description on YouTube says. Even if you don't actually No Man's Skyyou can discover the new content, free until Monday February 19 at 6 p.m. GMT.

You can also fly around the universe in a new spaceship, and there's a new community expedition to take part in. There was also a rework of the Atlas Path mission, “resulting in a final and consequential choice.”

According to a post on According to developer Hello Games' co-founder Sean Murray, Omega represents a “time for new players to try No Man's Sky and for existing players to welcome them into the community.”

Given the game's initial launch in 2016 – which sparked controversy due to the feeling that Murray had misled the public about the content – several likely abandoned NMS and never returned.

However, over the years the team has worked tirelessly to make vast improvements, releasing numerous free DLCs to go beyond people's expectations.

These days, No Man's Sky is enjoying a much better reception, with a dedicated fan base who can't get enough of the universe exploration title.
