All-Aussie ‘sexiest fight ever’ locked in as Ebanie Bridges to defend world title, Vs Avril Mathie،
Australian boxing world champion Ebanie Bridges’ second defense of her IBF bantamweight world title is scheduled for December 9 in San Francisco against fellow Australian Avril Mathie.
Bridges last fought in December 2022 when she obliterated fellow Australian Shannon O’Connell in eight rounds, but faced a lengthy hiatus after a broken hand she reportedly suffered before the fight.

The 37-year-old first won her world title when she outlasted Maria Cecilia Roman in March 2022, beating Argentina who had held the belt since 2017 and through six title defenses.
But 9-1 Bridges is arguably best known for her eye-catching weigh-ins, where she dons lingerie – and continually teases Matchroom Boxing boss Eddie Hearn as he avoids eye contact.
The former maths teacher has built a legion of fans and even turned her success into “generational wealth” after launching an OnlyFans page.
Bridges’ second defense will see her face another Australian in the 8-1-1 Mathie, who is also not afraid to strip down.
While Bridges wears lingerie, Mathie wears skimpy bikinis when she shows up.
The match was somewhat surprising after Mathie lost his last fight against Ramli Ali for the IBF Inter-Continental Super Bantamweight title, which required him to move up a weight class.
The two men are set to fight on the undercard of the Devin Haney-Regis Prograis card on December 9, a fight Bridges has already called “the sexiest fight of all time.”
Speaking to the Daily Mail, Bridges admitted the pair were friends and “I respect her a lot.”
“I’m excited for this fight because I know our styles will go well together. We both have a lot of fans – that’s why I call it the ‘Battle of the Babies,’” Bridges said.
“This will be the sexiest fight ever.”
She added: “The weigh-in is going to break the internet.
“It will also attract a lot of viewers outside of boxing, as people will be interested to see if these two ‘OnlyFans models’ can box.”
Bridges, who knocked out O’Connell in her last fight in the eighth round, said “a mid-round knockout is very likely” but that she would be willing to go the full 10 rounds if she needed to .
The two men have already started chatting on social networks.
Bridges tweeted: “Can’t wait to smash your pretty face in @avrilmathie.”
To which Mathie replied: “It would only be fair play after I already blew out your right tit.”
They also jumped into the comments on Instagram, with Bridges writing: “I’m going to beat the shit out of you in #JustSaying #CollabAfterTho.” »
Mathie replied, “Lol, it’s okay because I’m going to break yours first.”
Although there will be discussions about escalating the fight, the two men have long enjoyed an amiable rivalry.
When the fight was first discussed in April, Bridges had nothing but nice things to say for her compatriot.
“I love Avril, I think she’s great, honestly,” she told talkSPORT.
“She works very hard and I respect her for what she does, her drive, her lifestyle and what she has done.
“I think it will be a great fight and definitely a crowd pleaser. I think our weigh-ins will break the Internet.
The December 9 card will be a big card for the Australians with Liam Paro set to face Montana Love, with the winner expected to have a chance against the winner of Haney and Prograis.
