Rumors suggest AirTag 2 with Apple Vision Pro integration by 2025،

The AirTag, this nifty little gadget, is sparking quite a debate. Some swear by it, others less so, and some even find it a little unsettling. We’ve heard stories about AirTags being the heroes, saving people’s stuff, but they’ve also found themselves in less savory situations, prompting a class-action lawsuit against Apple and its tracking device. Still, when used correctly, the AirTag is a real game-changer. Now, word on the digital street is hinting at the next-generation AirTag, with rumors circulating the online grapevine. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, as reported by Apple Insiderdrops the scoop that mass production of the AirTag 2 is on hold until 2025.

Last August, Kuo revealed the truth, predicting the start of mass production of the AirTag 2 by the end of 2024. And there’s a difference: a tie-in to the Apple Vision Pro. Kuo leaves us hanging on the details, keeping it a bit of a mystery.

Common sense tells us that Apple VisionPro should work well with Find My, not only for security reasons (because, let’s face it, a $3,000+ device needs all the protection it can get, including GPS tracking), but also because iPhones already use directional search for accessories. So why not extend this functionality to headphones?

Assuming Kuo’s timeline holds up, we could see the AirTag 2 debut in March or April 2025. What’s in store for this next-generation AirTag? Well, that’s anyone’s guess. The hardware has been iterated since its April 2021 launch, but the software has received updates, notably in the anti-harassment department.

While the AirTag doesn’t steal the show in Apple’s current lineup, it certainly plays the starring role in stories of lost luggage and airport adventures.
