Do you currently have around $400 to spend on a new mid-range phone and can't decide between Google's Pixel 7a and Samsung's Galaxy A54 5G? If you like to stand out and turn heads with your conventional gadget choices, but don't want to spend money on the top-of-the-line Nothing Phone (2), it might be a good idea to wait a few weeks more before making your next Android purchasing decision.

Of course, there's no way to verify the information leaked on Elon Musk's social media platform earlier today, but for the most part it corroborates or reiterates past predictions made by equally reliable sources or even the exact same source.
In other words, there is now a very good chance that the Nothing Phone (2a) will indeed feature a high-quality 6.7-inch OLED display, equipped with FHD+ resolution and support for 120Hz refresh rate, as well as a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Ultra, dual 50MP cameras on the back, a 32MP selfie shooter, 45W charging capabilities and of course, Android 14 with Nothing OS 2.5 in more on the software side.
This makes it a decidedly mid-range affair in the vein of the original Nothing Phone (1), although some of those specs are borrowed directly from the “normal” phone (2). Exactly 400 dollars is the “expected price” of the phone for the American market, where it could however only be marketed in “limited” numbers.

This would certainly make it difficult to compete with the aforementioned products. Pixel 7a and the Galaxy A54 in terms of mainstream popularity, which probably isn't the company's main goal yet.

Because Nothing-branded phones represent so much more than cold specs and numbers, a big piece of the puzzle of this affordable bad boy continues to be missing while a thick veil of secrecy and uncertainty covers its design. But all will be revealed in due time, which won't be long now, so stay tuned to our website in the coming weeks.
