Nothing Phone (2a) launches on March 5, design and price remain a mystery

Nothing's next mid-range smartphone, the Phone (2a), is shaping up to be an excellent product. After watching the 10-minute video that Nothing released today explaining the reasoning behind the phone (2a), it's clear that the company wants to create a truly special device for its community.

Although we expected Nothing to reveal as little about the phone as possible (2a), we hoped the company would at least show it in the video. Alas, the only information we got from the video is that the Nothing Phone (2a) will be officially presented on March 5.

While this will likely be released globally, US customers will need to sign up for a “developer program” if they want to pick up the Nothing Phone (2a) when it launches in the country.

It's a similar process that Nothing adopted with the launch of Phone (1) in the US, but with one major difference, it's no longer called “beta membership”, which suggests the company has resolved most issues related to US network support.

Another interesting piece of information that Nothing specifically teased in the video has to do with the price. Although the company did not announce how much the (2a) phone would cost, it did say that it would be cheaper than the (1) phone, which was originally priced at $299 in the United States.

With over two weeks until the official announcement, we expect Nothing to continue to release more details about the phone (2a). It will be interesting to see if the leaks will ultimately “kill” Nothing's hype campaign or if the company will manage to keep the mystery until the very last moment.
