Apple hints update is coming to fix flickering Watch display issues and more،

Complaints from Apple Community Web Page And Reddit indicate that some Apple Watch users are experiencing issues with their watches’ displays. Judging from the messages, it appears that the screens of the affected units flicker when the user raises their wrist to fully illuminate the screen while in Always On mode. Another issue Apple is investigating is where complications on some Apple Watch models turn pink when the user’s wrist is raised.

A Reddit follower noted that the flickering issue occurs when a timer is running or the Modular Ultra face is in use. Other complaints include this one from an Apple Community follower who wrote: “It’s not just you. Here on Series 9 on 10.0.2 I’m experiencing the same problem. Split second of screen flickers when waking up to exit AOD. It happens sometimes, but enough to the point that it bothers me.”

From the posts, it appears that the flickering issue and pink complications have been spotted on the new Series 9 watches as well as the Apple Watch Ultra 2. The bug continues to appear even after the latest watchOS release, 10.0.2. , is installed. Apple is expected to release the public version of watchOS 10.1 next week and it could contain a patch that exterminates bugs.

In fact, Apple even hinted that an update to fix the problem was in the works. In a note, Apple asked service providers not to repair affected watches and instead inform customers that they should keep their Apple Watch software up to date. This certainly gives the impression that Apple is expecting to release a software update soon that will fix flickering on Apple Watch screens as well as color changing complications on some watch faces.

Apple says users can turn off the Always On display as a temporary solution to fix flickering. Press the Digital Crown until the Home screen appears. From there go to Settings > Display and brightness and turn off Always On mode. When Always On Display is enabled, the screen dims when the user’s wrist is lowered and becomes brighter when the wrist is raised. This is when the flickering appears.
