Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham out for weeks with ankle sprain

Jude Bellingham will be out for three weeks after suffering a sprained ankle during Real Madrid's La Liga win over Girona on Saturday, the club have confirmed.

Bellingham scored twice in the 4-1 win over title rivals Girona that took Madrid five points clear at the top of La Liga, but the England international went off before the hour out of play due to a left ankle injury.

Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti said after the match that Bellingham would undergo tests, and Madrid confirmed on Sunday that he was suffering from a sprained ankle.

This injury comes at a busy time for Madrid. They return to Champions League action on Tuesday with a round of 16 clash against RB Leipzig before facing Rayo Vallecano in La Liga next weekend.

Bellingham is Madrid's top scorer after taking his season tally to 20 in all competitions, including 16 in La Liga.
