Tottenham Hotspur takeover, Qatar, Sheikh Jassim, Ange Postecoglou, Premier League ownership, Manchester United takeover, news،

Cheikh Jassim has reportedly withdrawn his takeover offer from Manchester United and turned his attention to Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur.

This is according to The Mirror, which reports that the Qatari businessman has been beaten by Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who is set to buy a 25 per cent stake in the Red Devils.

Ratcliffe would take over the club in the future, with United’s board expected to vote on his decision to become the club’s biggest shareholder.

This has forced Sheikh Jassim to look elsewhere, with the Qatari potentially buying Tottenham Hotspur due to his keen interest in Premier League investments.

Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, owner of Qatar Sports Investments, has reportedly already met Spurs president Daniel Levy.

Qatar hosted the 2022 World Cup, and regional rivals Saudi Arabia and Abu Dhabi own rival clubs Newcastle United and Manchester City.

Qatar Sports Investment Group would not make a bid to buy Spurs, but Sheikh Jassim could lead a consortium to take over the club.

Life in north London is off to a good start for Postecoglou, with Spurs currently at the top of the Premier League ladder.

Arsenal and Tottenham have collected 20 points, with Manchester City currently in third place on 18 points, with six wins.

Spurs are currently the ninth most valuable team in the world according to Forbes, but with significant investment they could climb the rankings.

Al-Khelaifi was previously reported to have given advice to Sheikh Jassim in his bid to gain 100% ownership of Manchester United.

Now, if he turns his attention to Tottenham, Postecoglou could be set to receive a big war chest, reading to sign big-name players following the departure of Harry Kane only a few months ago.
