The crowd-pleaser Galaxy A51 is out of updates

The last time we mentioned the Galaxy A51 – a very popular and overall crowd-pleasing mid-ranger – was when talking about the Galaxy A55 and how the successor might retain a camera from the Galaxy A51.

Before that, it was exactly a year ago – early February 2023, when the Galaxy A51 was making headlines again. At the time, US Galaxy A51 owners were receiving the Android 13 update.

From now on, the 4G LTE version of the Galaxy A51 will no longer receive updates (via GizChina).

Recently, Samsung removed other devices from the software support list: the Galaxy Tab S6, Tab S6 5G and, unfortunately, the Galaxy A51 4G. The phone is stuck with One UI 5 based on Android 13 which brought some significant changes including design tweaks that made it easier to navigate in 2023, as well as new features like stacked widgets and maintenance mode.

Among the new benefits brought by One UI 5 was the customization of the color palette.

Android 13 expanded the color palette interface customization introduced by Android 12 by significantly increasing the possible color combinations for painting the phone interface. One UI 5, entirely based on Android 13can feature up to sixteen different color palettes derived from your wallpaper for a seamless, cohesive interface that allows your wallpaper of choice to fit in fairly well with adjacent elements.
