But he will also need to keep an eye on Miller on the track, as the latter seeks to erase his memory of his 2022 race at Phillip Island after being forced to retire following a crash.

“I think he (Jack Miller) will be very strong,” Bagnaia said.

“He loves racing at home, like all drivers, and it’s very motivating for him.

“Last year it was very competitive, but unfortunately it fell off.

“But I think this year KTM will be very strong.”

Although he hasn’t enjoyed success on Australian soil, Bagnaia is excited to race on a track he considers one of the fastest in the competition.

“I really like the speed of the track,” Bagnaia said.

“It’s incredibly fast and in two or three places it’s very scary.

“But everyone knows how nice it is to ride there.

“I love the third corner, it’s one of the best corners in the world.”
