Sources – Kliff Kingsbury top candidate to become Commanders’ OC

Kliff Kingsbury, who was set to become the Raiders' offensive coordinator earlier this week, is now a leading candidate for the Commanders' offensive coordinator job, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Saturday.

Kingsbury was one of the few to interview for the Raiders job and sources confirmed Thursday that Kingsbury is expected to accept the job. However, a breakdown in negotiations was cited as the reason he withdrew his name.

Kingsbury worked last fall with USC's Caleb Williams, the 2022 Heisman Trophy winner, as the Trojans' quarterbacks coach and lead offensive analyst.

Kingsbury also drafted Kyler Murray when he was head coach of the Arizona Cardinals and coached Patrick Mahomes and Baker Mayfield in college when he was head coach at Texas Tech.
