Former Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard is considering an offer from South Korean club FC Seoul, a source has told ESPN.

Lingard is eager to return to a club after spending more than seven months out of the game. He has not played competitively since leaving Nottingham Forest at the end of last season and almost joined Saudi Arabian side 'Al Ettifaq, led by Steven Gerrard, in September.

Despite traveling to Saudi Arabia to train alongside Gerrard, no deal was ever reached and the 31-year-old is now considering a move to South Korea.

A source told ESPN that FC Seoul, which plays in K League 1, had offered a two-year contract with a lucrative financial package.

Lingard, who is due to fly to South Korea on Monday, is yet to formally accept the offer and clubs from Saudi Arabia, Turkey and England remain interested.

Lingard spent time in Dubai completing an individual training program to ensure he is ready to restart his career. His last start was in Forest's 3-1 defeat to Tottenham in March 2023.

He left United in 2022 after attending the club's academy making 232 appearances, scoring 35 goals.

He scored in the 2016 FA Cup final and the 2017 Carabao Cup final and was part of the England team that reached the semi-finals of the 2018 World Cup in Russia. He won 32 international caps, scoring six goals.
